. the breed is frequently referred to as english bulldogs, derived from their origin in england and the perception of them as symbolic of the english, especially through the image americans have of the tenacity of the english spirit.
club meetings are open to anyone interested in bulldogs, whether you use the word english or just call them bulldogs. non-members are welcome to attend our programs on specific bulldog-related topics, our matches, and our shows and are encouraged to become members and actively participate in the club's activities.
bcnj is concerned with the education of pet owners and breeders alike. the club encourages responsible pet ownership, in part through programs at meetings and the gazette, our newsletter, which is sent to every member. each year we have social events, including a holiday party at which championship medals are awarded to members whose dogs have earned conformation or obedience titles, a spring auction of bulldog collectibles, and a covered dish dinner in june.
